The Pursuit of God

I am very much in need of God's intervention in my life right now.

When a man seeks after God...
:God must first have sought the man.:
"All the time we are pursuing Him we are already in His hand: 'Thy right hand upholdeth me.'"

|The modern scientist has lost God amid the wonders of His world; we Christians are in real danger of losing God amid the wonders of His word.|

:He waits to be wanted.:
"O God, show me Thy glory."

The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One.

"I feel low"

The background, feel, and look of this blog is a lot like Coldplay's new album X&Y.

Shortly after the album came out I went to band's website to see some of the influences on the current music. It's not hard to hear how some of their influences have worked their way onto the album. The most obvious example is "Talk", where the riff is straight out of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love". If you don't believe me, go listen to that track sometime. When X&Y came out I heard this being mentioned and decided to investigate at the iTunes music store. Sure enough, it is the same riff. They must have worked out a deal before this album came out because if not, then a lawsuit is surely pending.

Another influence I have heard is Pink Floyd. Coldplay has always reminded me of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" because of the melancholy mood, the guitar tone, and a few of the chords. The song "Low" on X&Y has a floating, soaring breakdown that goes on for about a minute with Chris Martin singing "I feel lowww..", and then at exactly 5:00 a short wail/shriek of a woman is heard. "What the heck was that," I asked myself, "and what did that remind me of..?" The answer: Pink Floyd's 'The Great Gig In The Sky'.

A soft melody from another world

Stay tuned.
