Because I am not yet gainfully employed and have no school work or projects I am actively pursuing at the moment, I have a lot of time on my hands. Therefore,...
Overview of books I am reading/have finished reading/will soon read:
The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard. It's been a slow chug on this one. Lots to digest. I'm in the meat of it now, though. Chapter 5 is his explication of the Sermon on the Mount. It's very beneficial, but a lot to digest. I haven't read any of it in a few weeks. I will pick it up again when I am ready.
Waking the Dead by John Eldredge. For some reason I was compelled to read it recently. Eldredge is pretty silly, but when I take his books as metaphor not doctrine - as I believe they are meant to be taken - I find good in it. Encouragement and vision where I lack it. I finished it. It was a good boost. The Lord needs to do some more work.
Syrup by Maxx Barry, the NationStates guy. I read it in about a week. It's a very fast read. The reason it took me even that long was that I was both attracted to and repulsed by the characters. A cynical fiction story about advertising. Perception is reality.
I finished re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and will finally read the rest of the series. I'm a chunk of the way through Chamber of Secrets.
